Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey (lahir di New York, 27 Maret 1970) adalah seorang penyanyi, penulis dan pencipta lagu, produser dan kadang-kadang aktris asal Amerika Serikat. Ia membuat rekaman debut pada tahun 1990 di bawah bimbingan eksekutif Columbia Records, Tommy Mottola, dan menjadi musisi pertama yang memiliki lima single pertamanya puncak US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Setelah menikah dengan Mottola pada tahun 1993, serangkaian lagu hit menetapkan posisinya sebagai artist Columbia dengan penjualan tertinggi. Menurut majalah Billboard, dia adalah seniman yang paling sukses pada 1990-an di Amerika Serikat.

Mariah Carey dilahirkan dengan nama Mariah Angela Carey pada tanggal 27 Maret 1970 di Huntington, Long Island, New York, Amerika Serikat. Ia merupakan anak bungsu dari tiga bersaudara dari Alfred Roy Carey dan Patricia Carey. Di umurnya yang ketiga tahun, orang tuanya bercerai dan Mariah mengikuti ibunya. Sejak saat itulah Mariah hampir tidak pernah bertemu dengan ayahnya, sampai tahun 2002 dipertemukan kembali.
